Crispin Smyth-Farrow
Crispin Smyth-Farrow was one of Dorothy's primary patrons. He commissioned Valérie and kept her prisoner in his home, Stenordale Manor. He had at least two children, Alistair Smyth-Farrow and Henrietta Smyth-Farrow,[ch. 32] who received no inheritance from him.[ch. 26]
Smyth-Farrow first got involved in Dorley Hall in 1962, when he struck a deal with Dorothy to support her work in return for being allowed to return Chester Mount-Farrow to his family.[ch. 37] Initially, he used Dorley Hall to extort upper-class rivals who feared he would have their sons kidnapped, but by 1984 he had steered Dorothy towards turning it into a more commercial enterprise, producing feminized boys for purchase by wealthy elites. He also enjoyed Dorley's products himself.[ch. 37]
In December 1987, he took delivery of Valérie. He would keep her prisoner in his home for the rest of his life; he treated her cruelly, most notably by repeatedly forcing her to train girls and then killing them.[ch. 26]
When Elle Lambert secured Dorley Hall in a coup in 2004, Smyth-Farrow was the only backer who stood by Dorothy; he continued to fund Dorothy and kept Elle from terminating the lease on Dorothy's flat.[ch. 15]
Smyth-Farrow died in 2005 at his home in Stenordale Manor, having spent his entire fortune on his own pleasures rather than leave anything to his children, and intentionally trapping Valérie with him with the expectation that she would starve.[ch. 26]
