Melissa's mother was a cis woman who was born in 1974[LL] and died of a serious illness in 2009.[ch. 24] She had two children, Melissa and Russ.
She was married to Melissa's father, but they did not get along very well. Before that, she was friends and likely lovers with Jenny Yau.[ch. 24]
