Sue or Susan is a trans girl Teri and Linda fostered in the mid-1990s.[ch. 28]
Beatrice met Sue when she was fifteen in 1994. At that time, Sue had her hair cut short for school, but wore a clip-on ponytail at home. She also had to bind her breasts and drop her voice training to attend school as a boy.[ch. 28]
Sue spent her early childhood in Barnet. Raised mostly by her father, a widower, she was intelligent and got good marks in school. After learning about transsexuals from Eurotrash and realizing she was trans, she found information about HRT in a public library and approached her doctor to ask for treatment. Instead, the doctor refused and outed Sue to her father, who abused her for it. Eventually Sue decided to run away and spent a while living on the streets; her father, meanwhile, turned his violent outbursts on others and ended up in jail. When Teri and Linda learned of her, they took her in, and became her legal foster parents so they could enroll her in school. They hoped to keep her in school until she completed her A-levels.[ch. 28]
Sue still spent time socially with Linda's household after Beatrice and Elle met in 2002, but appears to have moved out by the time Linda died, since Beatrice did not feel the need to house or disclose her.[ch. 28]
The last chronological mention of Sue is at Linda's wake in 2003.[ch. 28] She would be 40 or 41 at the start of the 2019 intake.
