Chapter 34: Your Sisters in the Dark is the eighth chapter of the third book of the series, Enemies of Dorley Hall, and thirty-fourth chapter overall.

The title refers to a reflection by Elle in one of the flashbacks to August 2004.

The chapter contains 5 flashback scenes to events in 2002 and 2004, and the remaining 23 scenes all take place on Monday, 30 December 2019.

Plot

In August 2002, Elle reminisces about learning the secret of Dorley Hall

Back in 2019, Trevor considers the status of Val

Melissa and Shahida discuss the impending meeting with Bea

Christine is woken by Paige, as she has also been alerted about the meeting

Beth and Steph discuss Will with Bethany demanding Steph keep her eyes closed

In August 2002, Beatrice arrives to meet Elle for the first time

Tabby prepares to wrangle the Melissa/Shahida/Rachel/Amy clusterfuck, among other shitshows

Will takes out his frustrations on the mirror, which refuses to break

Tabby lets Will know about the real secret of Dorley Hall

Shahida and Melissa arrive early at Dorley

Will is brought to the prep room, refitted by Monica for a training space with punching bags

Shahida distracts herself with Vampire Queens: Devil Sisters while they wait

The bitch session group therapy meeting begins without Indira, Tabby, and Will, so it immediately begins to fizzle

Val and Trev go for a run in The Run, as they are out of possible surveillance

Shahida and Melissa get the formal reprimand from Beatrice

The group therapy session winds down, and Will appears invigorated by exercise

Tabitha arrives as Beatrice finishes with Melissa and Shahida, allowing Melissa to see Jenny

Maria briefly meets with Beatrice before the next lot are brought in

Frankie is asked by Jake to do Declan up

Pippa brings Amy and Rachel to Beatrice; Rachel militates against signing the NDA

In August 2004, Elle arrives at Dorley post-regime change

Pippa storms out of the disclosure meeting after being imputed to be a rapist by Rachel

In August 2004, Elle bring tea and biscuits for Maria and Barbara

Melissa meets the downstairs basement dwellers and Will short-circuits

Amy and Rachel go round to the first-floor common room, where Rachel continues her ratbaggery and is taken down by Paige

Steph and Melissa go to the roof to find Pippa, and Steph gives Rachel a smackdown as they return to her room

In August 2004, Elle and Bea discuss refurbishing Dorley

Bea meets Elle who brings news from Stenordale and needing to set up a team in the Dorley woods
