Bella is a graduate of the Dorley programme who is currently co-sponsoring Rebecca and Faye with Indira. [SD 16] She is likely dating Rabia. [SD 16][SD 28]
Bella and Rabia's relationship appears to have been put on hold when Rabia left the Hall, but when Rabia returned as the replacement nurse in the Fall of 2019, the two picked up where they left off. [SD 23] By December, Shahida believes they are "probably dating". [SD 28]
Sponsoring
Following Nell's demotion, Bella joins Indira in co-sponsoring Faye along with Rebecca on October 25th; According to Indira, it's a fairly easy assignment as "as Faye and Rebecca are inseparable, and practically sponsor themselves." [SD 16] After taking time to reflect, Nell asks Bella to apologize to Rebecca on her behalf. [SD 21] Recognizing that she has been working on herself, Bella encourages Faye to give Nell another chance. For her part, Bella doesn't seem to like Nell, either; [SD 23] in December, she and Rabia take Nell out on a "sort of a get-to-know-you-again thing" to reconnect. [SD 24]
After Shahida is seen putting up a missing persons poster for Mark Vogel, Melissa's old identity, at the Hall, a "borderline panicking" Bella makes the call to send Faye and Rebecca across campus to retrieve Christine from a meeting with her professor; in doing so, she sends the two second years outside the Hall for the first time, far ahead of schedule. Back at the Hall, Christine berates Bella for the decision; Rabia intervenes and calms her down, explaining that they were short-staffed and needed Christine to get in touch with Abby, who could then get in touch with Melissa. Bella is given the night off to attend the 2019 Christmas Eve party and sits at Rabia's table. [SD 31]
Trivia
- Bella reveals that she was abducted by the Hall while on her holidays. [SD 22]
- Bella is aware of the literature (though she does not use that specific epithet). She speculates that its existence is related to real-world activity by other, unknown force-feminization programs. [SD 22]
- Melissa recalls that Bella was "gearing up to sponsor someone for the first time" around 2015 or 2016. [SD 23] It's unclear if a suitable candidate was not produced in that time or if she sponsored a washout in the interim.
