Faye is a second year girl in the 2018 intake. She was originally sponsored by Nell, but due to Nell's abusive behaviour, she is now being co-sponsored by Indira and Bella[SD 16].

She is in a relationship with Rebecca, and both are frequently intimate with the other girls in their intake. Rebecca's nickname for her is Effie.[SD 10]

Faye is good at art and is planning on pursuing a degree in graphic design. [SD 9] The nameplate on her bedroom door is decorated with hand-drawn stars and hearts. [SD 26] When Maria is in the hospital, Faye draws something "really sweet" for her in the second years' get well soon card. [SD 18]

Christine describes Faye as "such a sweet kid". [SD 10] The other girls in her intake have told her she has a "filthy mind". [SD 35]

Faye seems to be a good cook and makes a "very good" lasagna. [SD 22] She apparently has a natural talent for roller-skating. [SD 35]

Pre-transition

Faye went to school with a trans man named Marshall; [SD 35] she recalls being a bastard to him ("A bitch, now, I guess"), but now envies his certainty in his own gender. [SD 9]

First year

At intake

Faye describes herself at intake as angry "all the time" and "everyone’s enemy". When triggered, she would lash out violently. Nell used physical and verbal abuse to reign in Faye's behavior, which worked for a time; sometime towards the end of her first year, Faye was pushed to the limit and punched Nell in the stomach, spending a week in a cell afterward. [SD 9] Later, Christine theorizes that Nell had "simply recreated the circumstances of her abuse" and that Faye somehow managed to reform herself "despite" the actions of the programme. [SD 10]

While seemingly the most oppositional of her intake, Faye was still comparatively one of the easier subjects the programme has seen in recent years. Maria likens her behavior in the basement to Jodie and Paige, and remarks that they mostly only used "kid gloves" on her, compared to the likes of Leigh. [SD 18]

Second year

As a second year, Faye spends much of her time in a group with the rest of her intake learning to prepare meals, exercising, and presenting themselves for regular inspections, as well as other duties such as cleaning up after parties [SD 32] and generally acting as gofers for more senior girls and staff. They occasionally have sleepovers together as a group. [SD 26]

Under Nell

By the end of October 2019, Faye's intake has only completely moved out of the basement within the last two months. [SD 9]

Faye is in the kitchen helping prepare a meal for Aunt Bea's birthday party when Pippa charges into the kitchen in a bad mood. Faye, unnerved, accidentally slips in her unsuitably tall heels (which she is wearing at Nell's command) and drops a mixing bowl full of batter, inciting an angry blowup from Nell. Faye flees the kitchen to the ground floor conservatory, where Christine follows her. Christine consoles her and Faye reveals the extent of Nell's antagonistic approach to sponsoring; Nell has not changed her abrasive attitude towards Faye, which is triggering her [SD 10] and causing her to regress. Christine offers to intercede on her behalf. Faye misreads the moment and tries to kiss Christine, but is gently rebuffed. [SD 9]

Christine sneaks Faye upstairs to Paige's room, where the two receive makeovers for the birthday party; [SD 10] the experience seems to spur a moment of self-actualization in Faye [SD 15] which she later admits as much herself. [SD 31]

After Nell

After Christine speaks to Aunt Bea, Nell is removed as Faye's sponsor and is replaced with Indira and Bella as co-sponsors. According to Indira, it's a fairly easy assignment as "as Faye and Rebecca are inseparable, and practically sponsor themselves." [SD 16] By December, Nell has asked Bella to apologize to Faye on her behalf; [SD 21] Faye is slow to forgive her. [SD 22] After her last experience with Nell she is reluctant to wear heels. [SD 35]

When Shahida arrives at Saints in December and starts snooping around for Melissa, Bella enlists Faye and Rebecca to go on foot across campus to retrieve Christine; it is at least half a year earlier than most second years are allowed out of the Hall. The two arrive shaken up but without major incident, though they do experience being heckled by men for the first time. Later, when Paige hears about what happened, she vows to recalibrate the treatment of the second years by the sponsors and plans a group outing to make it up to them. [SD 23]

Faye is present when Melissa arrives at Dorley to find Steph; at one point, she puts herself in between Melissa's taser and Christine. [SD 25] Melissa and Faye later reconcile. [SD 26]

At the Christmas Eve party, Faye finds Bethany in the conservatory after she steps away to be alone and offers her advice on embracing womanhood. [SD 31]

In January, Paige's plan to take the second years out is approved and they go roller-skating. Faye has a notable moment of gender euphoria while skating with Rebecca -- joyfully surrounded by their friends, they notice a group of boys their age leering and making obscene gestures at them; Faye pities them as she and Rebecca revel in their love and in their womanhood. [SD 35]

Further adventures

Faye, along with the other second years, is present when Valérie returns to Dorley Hall and is reunited with Aunt Bea. [SD 37]
