Disclosure
In the context of the programme, disclosure refers to two related but distinct events.
For intakes, disclosure is the loosely-scheduled event early in the first year when sponsors explain to the boys in the basement that graduation from the programme will require them to become women, and that this process has already begun. Disclosure is scheduled when the boys start to discover and discuss effects of estradiol that cannot be easily explained, such as breast development; these usually occur two or three months into first year. This disclosure is generally presented to the boys as being the initial trial of a new experiment in rehabilitation, rather than the established plan, as the intake will be unaware that all Dorley girls went through the programme.[ch. 19]
Disclosure also refers to the process whereby someone unfamiliar with Dorley Hall is made aware of the programme. This generally involves the person being read in first reading and signing a non-disclosure agreement which threatens them with dire consequences if the terms of the agreement are broken, then having the programme explained to them.[ch. 25]
