In the Dorley Hall programme, a pre-transition associate is anyone with whom the girl in question is known to have had a close relationship.
Girls in the programme can access their file entries and make notes to update information on pre-transition associates.[ch. 23] Sponsors and other volunteer staff can also make updates.
