Julia (sometimes called Jools) is a Dorley girl sponsored by Lisa in the 2017 intake. She is in a relationship with Yasmin.
She is white with "deep red" hair. [SD 20] She has a cis NPH. [SD 22]
Shahida observes that Julia is prone to moodiness around outsiders. [SD 34]
Julia is originally from London and claims to have never left the city before being basemented; she likes to play up her "total ignorance of life in the countryside". [SD 37]
Relationship with Lisa
Lisa and Julia apparently had a falling out at some point; [SD 39] in November 2019, Julia complained to Christine that Lisa and Sally were "ganging up" on her and Yasmin "as usual" by pressuring them to better socialize with the rest of their intake. [SD 19] The next month, Lisa states her intent to reach out to Julia for a phone call after Ollie's suicide attempt. [SD 38] Yasmin reports that they have recently begun talking again as of January 11th, 2020; the two reunite that day to go dancing with the third years and Pippa, Donna, and Lorna. [SD 39]
First year
Christine describes the 2017 intake as originally being mainly a group of "introverts" who had been selected due to "social rather than physical" violence. [SD 17] After Craig washed out, the intake gradually split into "two-and-a-half cliques" -- Christine, Paige, and Vicky in one, Julia and Yasmin in another, and Jodie and her sponsor alone. Yasmin later speculates that they were all too alike to stand each other's company; [SD 29] comparing Julia to Paige. [SD 29]
Second year
Julia originally had a very deep voice. In her second year, she struggled to voice train before eventually getting the hang of it. Christine recalls her "raging", throwing things around her room, and "sobbing in Yasmin's arms" as she made her first attempts. [SD 46]
When the two's relationship became more physical during their second year, Yasmin recalls Julia reassuring her that she was only interested in her new identity as Yasmin and was not concerned with her past life. [SD 29]
Christine recalls Julia ripping out half of her hair extensions in the salon room and throwing them out the window because they made her head itch. [SD 46]
Third year
Isolated and anti-social
By their third year, while otherwise being "model" Dorley girls, Julia and Yasmin are self-described "loners" and mainly keep to themselves. [SD 19] The two have both found jobs and are working instead of returning to school at Saints, in order to hasten their departure from the Hall. [SD 7] Abby describes the pair as the "deal-by-not-dealing sort". [SD 18]
By the end of November 2019, the senior staff have informed the two that they are "insufficiently socialized" and need to spend more time with their Sisters and other sponsors before they will be allowed to leave the Hall. [SD 19] As a show of goodwill, Christine (by now a member of the staff) offers to put in a word with Indira to speak with Aunt Bea on behalf of Yasmin and Julia, who believe they are ready to leave the Hall. A few weeks later, Bea agrees to release the two girls early, in March 2020. Following this development, Yasmin increases her efforts to get to know her Sisters, starting by reaching out to Christine to thank her. Soon after, Aunt Bea apologizes to Yasmin on behalf of the Hall for not doing a better job at socializing her and Julia to begin with. [SD 27] While Yasmin begins warming up to the idea and starts making an effort to hang around the common areas more, Julia initially refuses to even start using the downstairs kitchen; Yasmin believes she will come around to the idea eventually. [SD 29]
Julia and Yasmin briefly intrude as Lorna is about to be read in by Christine on December 2nd. To Christine's chagrin and Lorna's confusion, Julia flippantly states “there’s a secret basement here where they turn men into women," and Yasmin claims to have originally been "a rugby jock called Andrew". [SD 20] Later, Yasmin apologizes to Lorna on both their behalves. [SD 27]
When Julia has to work and is unable to come along on the second years' skating rink excursion organized by Paige, she readily agrees, along with Yasmin, to join Christine and Paige on a night out on the next week. [SD 35]
By January, Julia has warmed to Christine and the other girls somewhat and and offers that she and Yasmin could "step up a bit", both to help Christine take advantage of some much-needed time off and to model a good example for the boys in the basement. [SD 37]
Julia takes a half-day from work on January 13th to attend the briefing regarding the discovery of bodies at Stenordale Manor and the lockdown of the Hall. [SD 42] While on call from her job on the 28th, she is conscripted into helping out with "door duty" monitoring the front hall entranceway under the guise of a donation drive. She encounters Steph coming down the stairs following her makeover in preparation to leave the Hall and pays her a compliment. [SD 46]
Trivia

- Christine seems to think that she is a good dancer. [SD 37]
- Yasmin claims she and Julia spent their "entire" second year at the Hall having sex on the pool table in the basement. [SD 37] Tabitha is aware. [SD 38]
