Lorna is a trans woman and a student activist for trans rights attending the Royal College of Saint Almsworth. She is in a relationship with Vicky and has been read in to the programme.

Lorna is around 183 cm (6'0") tall. Vicky says Lorna has "the sweetest voice" and reports that she has worked very hard on it; for her part, Lorna "hates" how she sounds. [SD 3] She seems to still be somewhat early in her medical transition; Christine notes that she has been filling out and looking more comfortable in her clothes as of late 2019 and that she is "becoming strikingly beautiful", [SD 8] though Christine already considers her "breathtaking" and "stunning". [SD 12] Beth considers her "hot in that way where she seems to be preemptively telling the world to fuck off about whatever it’s preparing to say to her". [SD 47] Faye also considers her "gorgeous" but recognizes she is "insecure" about her appearance. [SD 35] Lorna is less confident in her own looks [SD 22] and has crowdfunded FFS, largely for safety purposes. [SD 46] She wears a lot of makeup, on par with Jodie and Pippa. [SD 47]

Lorna and Vicky share a house in Almsworth off the Saints campus; they share the house with two girls unaffiliated with the Hall, and rent the top floor together. [SD 3]

She is socially acquainted with Indira's mother Aasha Chetry, having met her at trans rights demonstrations. [SD 21]

Dorley Hall

Lorna first met Vicky while studying Philosophy at Saints [SD 20] and, unaware of her history at Dorley Hall, believed her to be a cis woman. Following her NPH, Vicky led her to believe that she stayed at Dorley Hall for a period of time as a disadvantaged student; she met all her friends there but doesn't like to talk about it. Vicky sneaks estrogen out of the Hall's stash for her, but leads Lorna to believe that she is getting it from "some girl there" who likes her secrecy. [SD 20] Despite these deceits, the two are often visiting the Hall or having social interactions with Dorley girls -- they raid Paige's wardrobe (stored in Vicky's old room at the Hall) to steal clothes, [SD 8] and occasionally go out clubbing with Vicky's friends from the Hall. [SD 7]

Disclosure

On October 16th, Lorna participates in a protest at the Anthill against Katherine Frost with Vicky, Indira, and Christine; she delivers a speech to the crowd while standing on a picnic table. [SD 8] Afterward, she gives Christine an invite to the Trans Youth UK Consensus server, believing she has a trans friend who is trapped in a difficult living situation (in reality, it is Steph, newly admitted to the basement) and needs advice as a cis ally. Vicky reveals to Christine that Lorna has recently received a date for her FFS. [SD 8] Lorna goes to visit her parents over October 25th; The two go out dancing to celebrate the next day. [SD 12] Lorna offers more advice to Christine on Consensus on November 9th. [SD 13]

On November 27th, the day after Maria is attacked by Leigh, Vicky and Lorna pick Christine up from the hospital where she had spent the night watching over Maria. In the car, exhaustion causes Christine to slip up and ask Vicky for pills (her estrogen), which raises Lorna's suspicions. Stopping by Café One on campus, Lorna corners Christine and presses her for information; Christine improvises a lie that she and Vicky are both on the same SNRI. Back at the Hall, Christine messages Vicky on Consensus to apologize and get their story straight. Vicky confesses that she is "sick" of hiding her true history from Lorna, who believes she is cis. Meanwhile, Lorna secretly logs on to the Trans Youth UK server to express her anxiety about having found scars around Vicky's vagina while showering, believing them to possibly be the result of reconstructive surgery from a sexual assault (in reality, they are from Vicky's GRS). [SD 18] Soon after, Lorna broaches the subject, forcing Vicky to lie to her again. [SD 19]

After thoroughly investigating Vicky's background (fabricated by the Hall) and coming up unsatisfied, Lorna visits Dorley Hall to speak with Christine on December 2nd; when she arrives, Christine is tasked with reading her in. Once Lorna signs an NDA, Christine reveals her true personal history and the story of her time at the Hall. When Lorna struggles to believe the truth, Christine recruits Steph, accompanied by Pippa, to come upstairs to talk to her before Paige and Vicky arrive. When Vicky finally arrives, she and Lorna retreat to her room to speak privately. Afterward, Christine follows Steph into Vicky's room, where Lorna promises to keep the Hall's secrets for Vicky's sake. [SD 20]

On December 5th, Christine and Paige are called away from the Hall to Vicky and Lorna's house to confront Lorna, who Vicky reports is working herself up to do something to release Vicky from her responsibilities at the Hall. When Lorna reveals that she is planning on blackmailing Aunt Bea, Christine attempts to warn her off by telling her the story of Karen's recent disposal to illustrate the danger she would be inviting; Lorna takes the story as an intimidation tactic and angrily compares Christine to her past self, misgendering and accusing her of continuing to threaten women, only now on Bea's behalf. Christine crumples into a dissociative state and Paige intercedes on her behalf, chastising Lorna for throwing her trauma back at her. Paige reveals Christine's close relationship with Indira, whose mother, Aasha, Lorna knows from trans rights protests, and outlines the catastrophic damage to the trans community that exposing the Hall would result in. Lorna finally relents; later, when Christine has recovered, the two share a moment alone where Lorna apologizes for her behavior. Lorna informs Christine that she has decided to think of all the Dorley girls as trans women going forward. Christine invites her back to the hall to join Steph for an electrolysis consultation and speculates that the Hall may be able to fund her GRS. The two return to the living room where Vicky and Lorna trick her into playing Bloodborne. [SD 21] Following the visit, Vicky and Christine's friendship is restored. [SD 22]

In on the secret

Lorna meets Jodie while escaping from the rain when she arrives at the Hall for her GRS and electrolysis consults on December 11th. After inviting Lorna to shower off in her room, Jodie does her makeup while asking for her advice regarding her NPH -- she is trans but is not sure if she wants to claim it on her NPH for safety reasons. However, a cis NPH would necessitate bottom surgery and would cut her off from finding a trans community after graduating from the Hall. After Lorna reassures her that she loves being trans and that she can't imagine giving up the community, Jodie makes up her mind, deciding on a trans NPH. Jodie calls Donna immediately after to tell her the news then takes Lorna with her downstairs to tell Tabitha and the other girls hanging out in the kitchen. [SD 22]

While in the kitchen, Lorna offers to set Tabitha up with Levi, a trans man she knows. When Tabitha expresses dismay at Lorna being aware of her dating problems, Vicky reveals that she has made a spreadsheet to help Lorna "get up to speed" on all the girls in the Hall. [SD 22]

Afterward, Indira takes Lorna on a tour of the first floor basement. While talking in the medical area waiting room, Indira snaps at Lorna, berating her for insulting and triggering Christine earlier. Lorna tearfully acknowledges her error and suggests that the Hall could have done a better job helping her adjust after reading her in. The two apologize to each other. [SD 22]

Returning to the room after repairing her makeup, Lorna meets with Steph to await their GRS and electrolysis consults. Steph tells Lorna the story of her time in the closet, her search for Melissa, being brought to and choosing to stay at the Hall, and her eventual discovery by senior staff. The two share a hug and continue to make small talk until the electrologist arrives. After setting a timetable for electrolysis appointments, Lorna meets with the Hall's surgeon, Mrs Prentice and sets a GRS date for August 17th, 2020. [SD 22] Later, Christine confides to Steph that Vicky and Lorna had "a huge fight" because Vicky said Lorna didn't need FFS, believing her to be beautiful as she is. [SD 46]

After lunch, Vicky returns to the Hall to pick up Lorna and notices Shahida putting up a missing persons poster for Mark Vogel, Melissa's old identity, on the corkboard in the entranceway. [SD 22] The two follow Shahida out onto the path and inquire about the posters; they learn that Shahida has recently returned from abroad and is searching for closure regarding Mark's disappearance. Afterward, Vicky declares to Lorna that she wants to part of whatever drama is potentially unfolding. Back in the Hall, no one is able to contact Melissa or Abby for information on Shahida; Vicky volunteers to give Mrs Prentice and Tanya a lift rather than be further drawn into the crisis. [SD 23]

On December 12th, Vicky and Lorna respond to an alert from Tabitha when Shahida returns to the Hall and, at Lorna's urging, arrive in time to help assist Tabitha and Paige in reading her in. Lorna uses her recent experience coming to terms with the Hall to vouch for its efficacy in saving troubled young men from themselves. [SD 25]

Maria begins officially providing estrogen to Vicky for Lorna on December 16th. Later that morning, Lorna is making breakfast in the main kitchen when Yasmin arrives with Christine; Yasmin apologizes to Lorna for being flippant after intruding while she was being read in. [SD 27] That evening, Lorna is present in the kitchen when Melissa and Shahida bring Rachel to the Hall; she explains the voice training process to Rachel. [SD 28]

Vicky and Lorna attend the 2019 Christmas Eve party together. [SD 30] At the party, she meets Aaron. Later, Jodie presents Lorna with a signed launch copy of Fallout: New Vegas as thanks for her help with her NPH. (Donna helped her source the present.) She informs Lorna that she hasn't had "a moment's doubt" since making the decision. [SD 31]

Lorna is present in the kitchen the next morning when Christine notices Aaron lost in thought and shares the story of "the moment" she found herself following her depressive episode after her orchi. [SD 32]

Further adventures

On January 2nd, 2020, Vicky and Lorna attend the second years' skating rink excursion organized by Paige. [SD 35]

Vicky and Lorna go out dancing with Christine, Paige, Jodie, Yasmin, and Julie on January 11th. [SD 39] Vicky gets breakfast with Lorna, Christine, and Paige at Egg Nation on the 13th and checks in on Christine's progress, noting that she is no longer struggling with her feminine presentation skills. Lorna falls into a mood and reports that she seems to be getting clocked more as of late and that she recently had an altercation in a bathroom in the Anthill where a girl shouted at her. [SD 41]

On January 13th, Vicky receives an alert while out getting lunch with Lorna. They return to the Hall and a join a briefing where Indira breaks the news of the bodies discovered at Stenordale Manor. Indira states to the room that Lorna is approved to visit the Hall during the ensuing lockdown. [SD 42]

Lorna is present in the Trans Youth UK Consensus server when Christine comes out as trans. [SD 46]

Following word of Stephanie's impending departure, Vicky accompanies Lorna to the basement along with Maria, Christine, and Pippa on January 30th; the two hang out for the evening and give Steph, Beth, and others in attendance advice on passing in public and some limited insight on feminizing surgeries. [SD 47]

All she’s got to do is go the fuck outside. Step out that front door. One foot in front of the other. It shouldn’t be so scary. Billions of people do it every day.

That’s how they get you, though, Lorna said earlier. As a trans woman, that’s how they make you feel like shit. They stack everything up against you, they make it hard for you to do the shit other people get to do so easily, and then they make you feel stupid for your trepidation.

So how do you deal with it?

And all Lorna said was, you just fucking do it. You accept it’s going to be more of a bitch for you than other people, and you do it anyway. And when people try to make it hard, because you’re not cowering away from them like a good little tranny, you spit it back in their faces.

And you make sure you’ve got a friend with you. And another friend who knows where you are, where you’re going, when you’re going to be back. And you carry your keys between your knuckles. [SD 47]
