Chapter 28: Old Soldiers is the second chapter of the third book of the series, Enemies of Dorley Hall, and twenty-eighth chapter overall.
The chapter contains 3 flashbacks to dates prior to 2004, and nine scenes which all take place on Monday, 16 December 2019.
Plot
- In 1994, Bea meets Susan, a very young trans girl
- In the present day Val has to clean up Declan; she assaults Callum
- Rachel turns up to Dorley; Abby is avoiding Melissa
- In 2002, Bea meets Elle Lambert for the first time
- Steph finishes with Will and meets with Aaron and Pippa again in the common room
- Val prepares Declan for a dinner
- Christine and Paige being gay and very cute
- Having seen Steph is transitioning, Rach questions the nature of the women at Dorley
- Steph and Aaron talk about Steph worrying about her sister Petra
- In 2003, at Linda’s wake at the King’s Head, Ashley gives a fiery oration, and Bea tells a story
- Aaron tells Steph ‘I love you’, and then they have sex
- Val and Frankie discuss Dorley Hall and Val learns Dee is alive
